Detroit Lions Select DT Ndamukong Suh 2nd Overall

Detroit Lions DT, Ndamukong Suh

Ndamukong Suh will be a mainstay in the Lions defense for years to come.

Widely believed to be the best talent in this years draft, Suh fell into the laps of the Detroit Lions after the St. Louis Rams drafted Sam Bradford first overall, as expected.

Suh is a physical specimen, and is about as close to a “sure thing” that you get in the NFL Draft.

While some draft experts have flip-flopped Suh and McCoy (who should be drafted next), Suh is a much better fit in Detroit’s defensive system. He provides a big, inside presence that will be able to eat up blocks allowing the linebackers to fly around and make plays.

The Lions have been here before, and have picked in the top 10 since 2002. While they still have a lot of work to do to get to winning football games, they are well on their way with this pick. Suh will serve the city of Detroit well.
