Cincinnati Bengals Players Moving On From Carson Palmer

One of the top stories early in the lockout was the announcement by Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer that he wanted to be traded from the team or he would retire. At first, no one took Palmer’s claims seriously but as time went more players and people close to Palmer admitted that he was for real.

Now on day 103 of the lockout, the Bengals players are tired of still answering questions about their soon-to-be former quarterback.

“I find it funny people keep publishing this stuff because we have been talking about it since January,” Bengals lineman Andrew Whitworth said.

“If he’s made a personal decision that he feels is best for him that’s great but the same way we respect that, he has to respect we have to move on. I play here and signed to win football games not for anything else. It’s not for friends. It’s to win and compete.”

Whitworth doesn’t appear to be as bitter as some of his teammates. The man formerly known as “Pacman,” Adam Jones, said a few weeks back, “If Carson don’t want to be here, damn him, period, point blank.”

But perhaps the strongest indication that Palmer would not be returning was when his brother Jordan referred to him as an ex-teammate.

“That tells you everything you need to know. If Jordan is saying that, he knows better than anyone else. I think Carson has had enough and he’s ready to move on,” said Dhani Jones.
