Does Terrell Owens Belong In The Pro Football Hall of Fame?

Wide receiver Terrell Owens has reportedly gone under the knife to repair a torn ACL. With some aggressive rehab, Owens could return around November but is the receiver’s career instead coming to an end?

Due to the recent injuries T.O. has suffered, media members are questioning whether the end of a great career is upon us. Owens is second in NFL history in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. The man that holds first place in both of those categories is all-time great and Owens’ former teammate Jerry Rice.

Owens is also the only player in NFL history to have a receiving touchdown against all 32 NFL teams. In fact, Owens has at least two receiving touchdowns against all 32 teams.

When you look at statistics like that regarding Owens, there is no way you cannot think he is deserving of being inducted into the Hall of Fame when his great career really is over, yet some people doubt that Owens belongs. He has been surrounded by a lot of controversy throughout his career, but there is no doubting his skill on the field.

Owens is an all-time great and absolutely belongs in Canton. If he is somehow left out of the Hall of Fame, it will be a disgrace and embarrassment. In fact, there are few players currently in the league that are more deserving.

Where do you all stand on the T.O. debate? Will his off-the-field distractions hurt his chances of becoming enshrined in the Hall of Fame or will his play be too much to overlook?
