Miami Dolphins WR Brandon Marshall Is Dedicated To Regaining Speed

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall has been awfully quite this offseason while he deals with some personal issues — including aggravated battery charges against his wife, Michi Nogami-Marshall.

While Marshall has been silent, he has been away from the South Florida area that he calls home an he has not attended any of the Dolphins team workouts. However, don’t let the fact that Marshall is absent from workouts make you think that the wideout is not dedicating himself to improving this offseason.

Marshall has returned to FitSpeed Inc. to train with Matt Gates. Marshall trained with FitSpeed Inc. while he was preparing for the 2006 NFL Draft.  Back in 2006, Marshall was posting 40-yard dash times in the 4.4’s. With ihs return to the training facility, he is aiming to return to those speeds and he appears to be off to a good start.

Gates has revealed that Marshall is consistently running sub 4.5 40-yard dashes and that he has set a new personal best time on the high speed treadmill. While Marshall was preparing for the draft in 2006, he was running 19.5 mph. Most recently Marshall has been running 22.5 mph.

There is no denying that Marshall, despite being a bonehead off the field, is an incredible talent and can be one of the top players at his position. It is a positive sign that he has been working hard to regain his speed and if he really is as successful as Gates is saying, Marshall will be creating nightmares for opposing quarterbacks all season long.
