The Houston Texans made no secret about being a serious player in the cornerback market. Prior to today, they were considered the favorite to land free agent corner Nnamdi Asomugha. However, Asomugha was taking his time making a decision and the Texans did not want to wait and miss out on an elite corner.
Today, the Texans signed former Bengals defensive back Jonathan Joseph. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the two sides have agreed to terms on a five-year deal.
Now that Houston is no longer a player for Asomugha, the bidding war for the maket’s top free agent is between the San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets.
