Free agent cornerback Eric Wright will not re-sign with the Cleveland Browns. Instead, Wright has agreed to sign a contract with the Detroit Lions.
In his four years with Cleveland, Wright tallied 9 interceptions. He played a total of 59 games with the team. Wright will now attempt to help the Lions secondary.
Detroit was originally considered a contender for Nnamdi Asomugha, but Asomugha’s asking price was too steep and it took the Lions out of the race. Wright is a very solid backup option and a corner with plenty of potential.
