Miami Dolphins Add A Quarterback Not Named Kyle Orton

After all the speculation that the Miami Dolphins would complete a trade with the Denver Broncos for Kyle Orton, the Dolphins have decided to go in a different direction and sign Matt Moore to a two-year deal.

The news that Moore will land in Miami will likely pull the plug on the potential Orton to Miami deal that was reportedly “on life support” entering the day. It wasn’t that the Dolphins and Broncos were unable to agree on terms for a deal, but the hold up between the two sides seemed to be Orton’s unwillingness to restructure his deal.

Moore will compete with Chad Henne for the Dolphins starting gig, while Orton now seems the favorite to enter the 2011 season as the Denver Broncos starter.
