Let’s start by saying hats off to Tony Romo for his gutty performance and leadership that helped lead the Dallas Cowboys to a 18-16 victory over the Washington Redskins. While many headlines will point to Romo, the real stars of the game were the members of the Cowboys defense.
Sean Lee came up with a key interception and Anthony Spencer showed unbelievable pursuit in the game clinching forced fumble. The special teams unit also came away with a crucial blocked field goal.
The Cowboys defense kept Dallas in the game long enough for Romo to hit Dez Bryant for a miracle third down conversion that led to Dan Bailey’s sixth and game-winning kick. It may not have been a pretty win in Big D, but it was effective and helped the team grow. They overcame a ton of mistakes and showed a new found toughness.
