The University of Southern California received a big boost for next season when star offensive tackle Matt Kalil, who was ranked as a top three NFL prospect in the 2012 draft class, announced that he will be returning to school for his senior season.
If the return of Kalil is an accurate report, USC is well on track to return to a premier bowl game next season when their bowl ban is lifted.
The opportunity that lies ahead for the university and it’s football team could attract a lot of other underclassmen to return. It would not be surprising to see star quarterback Matt Barkley follow Kalil’s lead and return for his senior year. Returning to USC could allow Barkley to win a Heisman, win a bowl game and become the potential first pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.
