REPORT: Adrian Peterson Suffers Torn ACL In Minnesota Vikings Win

While the Minnesota Vikings have zero playoff hopes, they still managed to put together a 33-26 win over the Washington Redskins on Christmas Eve behind an impressive performance by backup quarterback Joe Webb. Minnesota did win the game, but it looks like they lost a big part of their offense to a significant injury. Star running back Adrian Peterson went down in the third quarter and it looked bad. Unfortunately, it could be even worse than it appeared.

If true, Peterson’s status for the long-term is definitely in question. A torn ACL would keep him out for a majority of the offseason, and depending on the extent of the damage, Peterson’s status for next year’s season opener could be in doubt. All of that remains in the distant future, however, but for now, it doesn’t look good for Minnesota and their star back.
