Gregg Williams Expected To Join Jeff Fisher & St. Louis Rams

New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has been a big part of the team’s success. Unfortunately for the Saints, this could be Williams’ last season with the team.

Per SI.com’s Peter King, Williams is  is “expected” to join his good friend Jeff Fisher on the St. Louis Rams staff next season.

Williams worked with Fisher during his time with the Tennessee Titans before leaving to coach the Buffalo Bills. Williams has said that he will not talk with Fisher until the season is over, but that won’t stop Williams from potentially joining the staff at the conclusion of the Saints playoff run. Why is Williams connected to Fisher? Just look at the high praise Williams gave for Fisher.

"“I will tell you this about Jeff: he’s my best friend in coaching. The National Football League needs him coaching, they need for him to be a head coach in this league, there’s not very many people as good as he is at what he does. I’m anxious to see where he’s going to go. I don’t know, I don’t know any more than you guys. I don’t talk to him, I don’t mess with him at this time of the year. He doesn’t mess with me at this time of the year. We’ll meet back up some time this offseason, maybe do some fishing or hunting together, but the National Football League needs Jeff Fisher back on the sidelines, it really does.”"

If Williams does re-join Fisher and make the jump to St. Louis, one thing is for certain — the St. Louis Rams are on the right track to restore their winning ways with one hell of a coaching staff.
