Nolan had previously run the defense of the New York Giants, Washington Redskins, New York Jets, Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos and most recently the Miami Dolphins. Nolan also had a stint as head coach of the San Francisco 49ers. As Glazer said, “solid, solid hire.”
