Would You Rather Have Two Years Of Peyton Manning Or Draft Robert Griffin III?

When it comes to the offseason, one of the biggest questions in the NFL this year is where quarterback Peyton Manning will be playing next season. Not only is there Manning, but one of the top quarterbacks in the 2012 NFL Draft class — Robert Griffin III — has been linked to a number of teams. What do the two have to do with each other? Manning’s destination will impact what team makes a play for Robert Griffin III.

Teams like the Miami Dolphins, Washington Redskins and Cleveland Browns are talked about as the top teams interested in RG3. To complicate things, they are also considered the leaders to land Peyton Manning.

That raises the question: what direction should these teams go at quarterback? Should they take a risk with Peyton Manning and hope that he can give them two or three solid years? Or should the team trade up and select Robert Griffin III, who is unproven?

Personally, if you can be guaranteed that Manning is 100%, you have to take that gamble. There is too much uncertainty with an undersized Griffin. Manning has proven he can get the job done at the top level and gives any team a chance to win now.

With Griffin, there will be growing pains. He could hold back a team in the present, while helping them in the future. Is that worth passing up on three good years of being a top contender with Peyton Manning?

That is a decision that many teams will have to weigh. Are those teams going to want to win now or will they focus and take a big time risk for the future? What would you do?
