NFL Draft 2012: Prospect Nicknames

facebooktwitterreddit

Nicknames have always been huge in every sport. It’s done out of fun, and the nickname sums up that player. Some have multiple nicknames, but some have none. This article is my opinion of what some of the upcoming rookies’ future nicknames could be. If you like it, be sure to leave comments of who you would like to see added.

Andrew Luck: The Indianapolis Savior

Luck will most likely be the starter for the Colts next season coming off the worst season in the NFL last year. He is the guy that could bring the Colts back to relevance, and I believe a couple of rings along the way.

Robert Griffin, III- The Sock

He’s already been given the moniker “RG3,” and I really like that one. But that’s not really a nickname, just his initials. Griffin always wears some pretty crazy socks, from Superman to Sponge Bob, and that is becoming his identifier.

Trent Richardson- Train

Have you ever watched Richardson run? This guy is insane. He has a ton of speed, but stronger than some of his offensive linemen at Alabama. When he’s on a track, it’s almost impossible to stop Trent.

Courtney Upshaw- The Unstoppable Force

I really believe Upshaw could be the next “chosen” linebacker. He was unstoppable at Alabama, and has all the potential to be the next elite LB in the NFL. He reminds me a lot of Clay Matthews, by his ability to rush the passer.

Devon Still or Dre Kirkpatrick- The Bust

Devon will cost a high draft pick to acquire him. But I just have a lot of questions about him. He has all the ability, but he’s not that consistent.  Kirkpatrick will probably be a middle to late first round pick, but only because of the growing need of pass defenders in the NFL. I have questions about his ethics, since he has already been caught with marijuana while with an Under Armor Representative. I honestly don’t think he has the heart or will to make it in the NFL.
