NFL Draft 2012: Trent Richardson & Mark Barron To Miss Alabama Pro Day

Alabama will hold their Pro Day this Wednesday to showcase their talented players, who will be entering the 2012 NFL Draft. Unfortunately for scouts, two of Alabama’s top players will not be participating in the Pro Day workouts — running back Trent Richardson and safety Mark Barron.

Richardson, the top-rated tailback, underwent minor knee surgery this offseason that held him out of the NFL Scouting Combine. He is on the road to recovery, but is not yet at full strength. He hopes to workout for scouts in about three weeks.

Barron, the top-rated safety, underwent double-hernia surgery that has also kept him out of the combine and Pro Day. Despite not being able to work out, the safety has kept his position at the top of the rankings.

These developments will not hurt either prospects draft stock, but it would be nice to see them put their workouts on display. Especially for a guy like Barron, who has questions over whether he is a better fit at free safety or strong safety.
