Brandon Carr, the top free agent cornerback left on the market, has finally found a home. Carr has signed with the Dallas Cowboys for five-years, with a deal worth $50.1 million. Carr’s contract just edges out the deal that Cortland Finnegan signed with the St. Louis Rams.
The Cowboys made no secrets about the fact that they needed secondary help this offseason. When free agency began, they quickly identified Carr as their top target and they made sure he did not get away.
It is a very good signing for a team who has such severe secondary questions. Even with the signing of Carr, Dallas could be in the market for another cornerback either in free agency or through the draft.
