The Washington Redskins have signed former Patriots and Bears safety Brandon Meriweather to a two year deal worth $6 million.
The deal gives the Redskins one of the two starting safeties they require after cutting Oshiomogho Atogwe and allowing LaRon Landry to explore free agency. While they may use Dejon Gomes or Reed Doughty as the second starter it is expected the Redskins will still find at least one more safety either to compete as a starter or add depth to a weak position.
