Tim Tebow Trade To New York Jets Could Be Off; Jaguars Back In The Mix

Don’t get too excited. Hours after learning that the New York Jets completed a trade to land Tim Tebow, Tebow’s Jets career could already be over.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Broncos and Jets hit a snag in the trade that would have sent Tebow to New York. In Tebow’s contract, there is some language that could force the Jets to pay the Broncos $5 million to complete the trade. If the Jets are unwilling to pay that sum of money, the trade will be nullified.

Schefter also states that the language in Tebow’s contract is what prevented a deal with the Jaguars from being completed. If Tebow to the Jets is off, Tebow could head to the St. Louis Rams. We don’t know exactly what will happen, but we do know this — the Tebow era in New York is already causing drama and a media circus.

Now, all reports are indicating that the Jaguars are back in the mix and Tebow will end up as either a member of the Jets or Jaguars. That’d be one way for Jacksonville to get the tarps off their upper level seats. Stay tuned, folks. This one is already getting good.

UPDATE: The trade is back on.
