Andrew Luck To The Indianapolis Colts Is No Sure Thing

It has seemed almost certain that the Indianapolis Colts would select Andrew Luck to be their next franchise quarterback after a disappointing 2011 season and the departure of longtime quarterback Peyton Manning. As we draw closer to the draft, the move seems less like a foregone conclusion.

It’s up in the air,” Irsay said when speaking with USA TODAY. “We have to look at this thing completely open-minded.You have two outstanding athletes, two great pure passers, two guys from families that are incredible.

“If we get to the point where we’re going to negotiate early, get something done before the draft, you never rule that out. We’ve talked to both agents. We haven’t negotiated yet.”

While the choice is still up in the air, you would have to imagine that Luck will still be the number one pick. Griffin is the more spectacular athlete due to his world class speed, but Luck remains a very sneaky athlete and measures right up their with the likes of Cam Newton in terms of his athleticism.

Luck is a rare prospect that has no glaring weaknesses. He has been looked at as the surefire number one pick for the past two seasons and the Colts would be silly to pass him up. RG3 is the hotshot athlete and flashy prospect that shoots up draft boards every season — that’s the kind of guy you need to be careful with.

In the end, Luck should become the newest member of the Colts. However, the move is no sure thing and RG3 still has time to overtake Luck as the Colts favorite quarterback prospect.
