New York Giants Will Host Dallas Cowboys In 2012 NFL Season Opener

The defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants will play host to the division rival Dallas Cowboys to kick-off the 2012 NFL season on September 5th at MetLife Stadium, the NFL announced today.
Many were expecting the Giants to host the Green Bay Packers, since the NFL has tried to keep division games towards the end of the season to keep the tail end of the schedule competitive.
However, there is no denying the ratings that the Dallas Cowboys always draw. They are the most loved and hated franchise in the NFL and NBC will draw in massive numbers when the NFC East foes face off. In fact, the six highest rated games in NBC Sunday Night Football history have featured the Cowboys.
