Just over a week until the NFL Draft now and while the top 3 picks are settled there is still plenty of conjecture as to how the rest will play out. This week I wanted to make sure all of you were aware that there is another contender for the top 5 who isn’t even being discussed and also that draft day slides happen for no other reason other than a player comes to a team that doesn’t expect him to be there and they pass to take the guy they thought they were getting.

Looking ahead to next week, NFL Spin Zone is gonna be chocka-block with mock drafts in the lead-up to Round 1 at Radio City Music Hall. I will be doing two mocks on two consecutive days with my final trade mock coming in the usual Tuesday slot and then on Wednesday I’ll make my final prediction as to who goes where with a more traditional mock draft. Also next week I will finally be releasing my Top 50 prospect list just before the draft as a guide for how I view the various players we’re likely to hear called in primetime.
