With the 23rd-pick of the 2012 NFL draft, the Detroit Lions selected offensive tackle Riley Reiff from Iowa University.
This is the perfect pick for Detroit, and Lions’ fans should be ecstatic about this selection. Without any elite cornerbacks left on the board worth taking in the first round, the Lions addressed their second biggest need, offensive line.
Reiff will be able to step in from day one at either left tackle or right tackle and be able to produce. Reiff is one of the more complete tackles in this year’s draft, and with a young quarterback in Matthew Stafford, the Lions need to do everything in their power to keep him upright.
Reiff is one of the most solid selections in the entire first round.
