Vontaze Burfict looked like a potential top 15 pick heading into this season, but Burfict put together one of the least impressive pre-draft performances in NFL history and saw his stock fall. Burfict ended up undrafted after the the 2012 NFL Draft came to a close, but it didn’t take him long to find a new home.
The Cincinnati Bengals immediately reached out to Burfict and came to terms on a deal with the undrafted free agent.
The move makes sense for a number of reasons. At the Arizona State Pro Day, Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis had a long talk with Burfict and seemed infatuated with his untapped talent. There is a very good chance that Burfict will make the Bengals roster.
