Brett Favre Returning To Football As High School Coach
By Josh Sanchez
When I first saw that Brett Favre was returning to football, I thought “oh Lord, here we go again!” However, this return for Farve is not to the NFL, but as a member of the coaching world. Favre will take his knowledge of the game and become a high school football coach at Oak Grove High School.
If the name “Oak Grove” sounds familiar, it is because that is the site where Favre would hold his workouts during his annual retirement/unretirement tour.
Per Favre’s agent Bus Cook, Favre joins Oak Grove “to help out in some capacity, but I’m not sure exactly what his role will be.”
Oak Grove head coach Nevil Barr told the Associated Press that he has not defined a role for Favre on the coaching staff, but the Biloxi Sun-Herald expects Favre to join the staff as the team’s new offensive coordinator.
Favre loves the game of football and it is no shock that he has decided to get back involved in some aspect. Last season, Favre was the television analyst for Souther Mississippi football and perhaps we should have all seen the title of high school football coach coming…
