The Indianapolis Colts desperately needed to add talent in the defensive backfield and they have finally gone out and done that. Owner Jim Irsay repeatedly tweeted about trade winds blowing over the past few days and he delivered on those promises by snagging Miami Dolphins starting cornerback Vontae Davis.
The Colts send a second-round pick and undisclosed late-round pick to the Dolphins for Davis. FOX Sports insider Jay Glazer was first to report the news.
It is an immediate upgrade for the Colts defense and a good deal for the Dolphins in return. It helps out both sides but shows that 2012 will be a throwaway season for the Dolphins. The Colts, however, just may surprise a few people.
