The Seattle Seahawks have finally announced their starting quarterback. On a media conference call Sunday night, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll announced that rookie Russell Wilson has won the competition.
Wilson was the Seahawk’s third-round pick in this past April’s NFL Draft. Throughout his college career and now rookie season in the NFL, Wilson has shown an ability to quickly pick up a new system. His ability to adapt helped him tremendously as he adjusted to NFL speed.
The Seahawks invested a lot of money in Matt Flynn in free agency but he wasn’t able to create a big enough gap in the quarterback competition to win the job.
