Adrian Peterson suffered a torn ACL and MCL on Christmas Eve of last year and he has been recovering in hopes of playing in the season opener. Not only did Peterson get to play but he got the start and it has payed off for the Vikings.

The Vikings were trailing the Jacksonville Jaguars late in the first half when he scampered into the endzone for a three-yard touchdown run to bring the score closer. The Vikings now only trail 7-9.

Peterson has 23 yards on 7 carries. The bright spot is the touchdown and it gives the Vikings a glimmer of hope going into the second half.
