The New York Jets started off their season on the right foot but they may be down a very key player for next weeks showdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Star cornerback Darrelle Revis suffered a mild concussion in the team’s win and his status for next week’s game at Heinz Field is in question.
“He seems to be feeling good, but whatever those (test) scores are, apparently that’s low,” Jets head coach Rex Ryan told ESPN New York. “I’ll lean on the doctors and trainers. We’ll see how he progresses during the week.”
Per NFL rules, the Jets now must wait for team doctors to clear Revis. Until he is cleared by the medical professionals and the team’s independent neurological consultant, Revis will be unable to practice or play. This will be a key injury to watch leading up to the big AFC matchup in Week 2.
