The New York Jets have some news to be excited about. Head coach Rex Ryan kicked off the team’s media session by announcing that star cornerback Darrelle Revis has been cleared for contact after suffering a mild concussion in the team’s week one victory over the Buffalo Bills.

Revis was held out of the team’s week two matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers but he is on track to see the field as the team faces off against the Miami Dolphins and rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

It was an exciting development for the Jets and Ryan passed along that same line of thought.

“There’s only one Darrelle Revis. It’s hard not to smile when he’s out there,” Ryan said, per Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.

I am sure the New York fans agree.

The Jets defensive backfield struggled last week against Ben Roethlisberger and his talented group of wide receivers. The Steelers skill position players are much more talented than what the Jets will face this week but any time you have Revis Island on the field you have to feel better about your chances.
