According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the New York Jets have declared Dustin Keller out for tomorrow’s game against the Miami Dolphins. Keller was previously listed as questionable with a hamstring injury, and it looks like Keller will be out once again.

Keller said that he was feeling better earlier this week and said that he would be able to play in Week 3. However, he missed practice on Friday after being limited on Thursday, so it will be interesting to see if he suffered a setback at some point.

He has been dealing with hamstring issues since Week 3 of the preseason, and he has caught just one pass for seven yards so far this year. Mark Sanchez will be worse off without Keller, who is a solid check-down option and can keep the chains moving. Watch closely for further developments regarding Keller, but he hasn’t progressed at all over the course of the week. The questionable tag seemed to be more of a reflection of the hope the Jets have that he will play, as opposed to Keller being about a 50% go for Sunday’s game.

On the bright side, Shonn Greene has fully recovered from his injury and was not even listed on the Jets injury report after being hit hard in Week 2.

Without Keller, tomorrow’s game will be a lot more difficult for Sanchez, especially when Jared Odrick and Cameron Wake get up in his face; he won’t have Keller to hit up when in doubt.
