REPORT: Robert Griffin III Expected To Play Week 6

According to a source within the Washington Redskins organization, Robert Griffin III is expected to pass his post-concussion tests with little difficulty and be made available to practice Wednesday leading to a start against the Minnesota Vikings at Fed Ex Field on Sunday.

Early indications yesterday from head coach Mike Shanahan and various players that were spoken to by reporters around the Redskins facility were that RG3 was doing well and appeared to have come away unscathed from the hit that knocked him senseless and caused what was described as a “mild concussion” last Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.

Robert Griffin III is scheduled for a cardio workout today and evaluation from doctors and this is the final real obstacle to his returning to the practice field. One thing Shanahan was clear about though – if there was any setback at all, RG3 would be put on the shelf immediately although Shanahan was hesitant to declare whether veteran Rex Grossman or rookie Kirk Cousins would draw the start in that circumstance.
