The Detroit Lions are expected to see the return of their starting free safety this weekend. Louis Delmas, who has missed nine of the Lions past ten games due to multiple injuries, remains on track to make his season debut this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Delmas practiced yesterday for the first time since the preseason and is expected to make the start for the Lions opposite safety Erik Coleman.
Delmas’ return will bring some physicality back to the Lions secondary and will be an immediate upgrade for the defensive backfield. For a struggling Lions team, the return of Delmas is exactly what the doctor ordered.
