Rashard Mendenhall's Achilles Injury Not Expected To Be Serious

Pittsburgh Steelers fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Starting running back Rashard Mendenhall, who is coming back from a torn ACL suffered at the end of last season, went down on Thursday Night Football against the Tennessee Titans with an injury to his Achilles.

While Mendenhall was just one of the many Steelers to go down with injury in the Thursday loss, the news isn’t as bad as initially feared.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network and NFL.com passed along the news that Mendenhall’s Achilles injury is not expected to be serious. Per Rapoport, Mendenhall’s Achilles tightened up during the game and the Steelers decided to handle the injury with caution.

Mendenhall has not been ruled out for the team’s week seven game. They will evaluate his Achilles throughout the week and determine if he will get the green light to play.
