Houston Texans safety Danieal Manning let his temper get the best of him on Sunday Night Football when he was at the bottom of a pile. On top of Manning in the pile was Green Bay Packers offensive tackle Marshall Newhouse and Manning was not happy with the positioning.
As a result, Manning swung on and punched Newhouse. The strike drew a fifteen-yard penalty.
Manning wasn’t happy with Newhouse’s lack of urgency after the play. When Newhouse didn’t get off of Manning, the claws came out and Manning tried to take things into his own hands. After the game, their beef was a thing of the past.
“I was hating on him at that moment,” Manning said, via the Houston Chronicle. “But it’s over. Things like that happen all the time in games.”
Not only did Manning draw a fifteen-yard penalty on the play but it was announced today that the league has fined him $15,000 for the punch.
