The NFL league office has been shut down Monday and Tuesday as the East Coast braces for Hurricane Sandy. As a result, the NFL has decided to push the trade deadline back from Tuesday at 4:00 pm Eastern Time to Thursday at 4:00 pm. NFL informed teams of the decision today.

It would have been virtually impossible for team’s to complete a trade with the league office shut down. There would have been no way to complete the necessary paper work to make the deal official. Now, team’s have an additional 48 hours to work the phones and try to seal a deal.
