Connor injured his neck during the team’s week eight loss to the New York Giants but the diagnosis is not as bad as initially feared.
Per NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, “I’m told LB Dan Connor just suffered a stinger vs. Giants. That indicates not a long-term recovery.”
Stingers generally put players on a week-to-week basis. When Connor exited in the second quarter, he was replaced by replaced by Orie Lemon in the base packages and newly-signed Ernie Sims in the nickle defense.
The Cowboys will need any help on the defensive side of the ball this coming week when they face off against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday Night Football.
