Hurricane Sandy Affects Steelers Travel For Game Against Giants

The Sunday afternoon game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey will go on as planned but the effects of Hurricane Sandy will cause disruption to the Steelers travel plans.

According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers cannot find a hotel to stay at in Jersey.

Instead, the team will travel to and from the game on the same day. Kickoff is set for 4:25 pm Eastern Time.

The good news is that the Steelers and Giants will still be able to play their game on the planned date instead of having to postpone it to a Monday Night Football game.

However, the bad news for Pittsburgh is that traveling to the stadium on gameday will alter pre-game rituals and preparation for the players.

Athletes are often a superstitious bunch so this change in plans could make them uneasy during gametime.
