It just continues to get worse for the Philadelphia Eagles. During the Eagles embarrassing 31-6 loss to the division rival Washington Redskins, starting running back LeSean McCoy was carted off the field with an apparent head injury after being hit hard by Redskins safety Madieu Williams.
McCoy was taken to the locker room to be evaluated for a possible concussion. He finished with 112 total yards but no scores.
It’s the latest blow to the struggling Eagles franchise that has failed to live up to their “Super Bowl or bust” expectations the past two seasons. You have to wonder why head coach Andy Reid kept McCoy on the field with the game well out of hand, but it is a decision that he has to live with and explain.
Rookie quarterback Nick Foles had a disastrous performance in his debut completing less than 50 percent of his passes for 220 yards and two interceptions.
Philly fans can start rooting for the number one overall pick. They will definitely be in the mix.
