Pittsburgh Steelers first-round pick David DeCastro returned to practice late last week after suffering a knee injury during the preseason and he is one step closer to his return on the field.
With the Steelers dealing with multiple injuries along the offensive line, the news of DeCastro’s inevitable return couldn’t come at a better time.
Not only does DeCastro return to practice, but he has been added to the 53-man roster.
To make room for DeCastro, released wide receiver David Gilreath, who is expected to rejoin the team as a member of the practice squad.
Entering the season, DeCastro was penciled in as the team’s starting right guard. It will be good for the team and their fans to see the first-rounder to see his first regular season game action.
