It should come as no shock, but San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh has announced that Colin Kaepernick will once again start for the 49ers in week 11. In two weeks as a starter against the vaunted Chicago Bears defense and the red hot New Orleans Saints, Kaepernick has come away with a 2-0 record.

The two impressive performances has allowed Harbaugh to continue riding the hot hand as the team moves forward.

“Colin, we believe, has the hot hand and we’ll go with Colin,” Harbaugh said.

Alex Smith lost the job after self-reporting a concussion he suffered. It is a prime example of why players are hesitant to turn themselves in for injuries suffered during a game. If Smith would have kept quiet, he would still have his starting job. Instead, Smith gets the role of backup and could be on his way out of San Francisco in the offseason.
