The Oakland Raiders are expected to part ways with linebacker Rolando McClain on Thursday after the team had a falling out with their former top-ten NFL Draft pick. McClain has started in Oakland since he was picked with the eighth overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, though his performance on the field has been a disappointment.
McClain reportedly got in to an argument with head coach Dennis Allen during Wednesday’s practice and was sent off the field after the heated exchange.
The former Alabama Crimson Tide star took to his Facebook page following practice to express his feelings towards the team.
“Officially no longer an Oakland Raider!!” McClain posted. “I’d like to be anywhere besides here.”
Technically, McClain is still officially a member of the Raiders, but it shouldn’t stay that way for long. McClain’s off-the-field issues, lack of production and recent argument with the team’s head coach should seal his fate and earn him the label of “former Raiders linebacker.”
