Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has been fined $10,000 by the NFL for an incident on the field involving Minnesota Vikings cornerback A.J. Jefferson.
Cutler was scrambling on a play and stiff-armed Jefferson before running out of bounds. The play drew a fifteen-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
“I’ve got to be smarter than that,” Cutler said. “If anyone else on offense had done that I would have probably yelled at him like it can’t happen here. I can’t do it again obviously.”
Here is a GIF of the play that resulted in Cutler’s fine:
Cutler has a bit of a history for getting in the face of his opponents and letting them know how he really feels, so perhaps his reputation had to do with this fine.
