Despite the tragic murder-suicide involving Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher that came to an end in the parking lot at the team’s facility in front of head coach Romeo Crennel and general manager Scott Pioli, the NFL plans for the Chiefs home game against the Carolina Panthers this weekend to be a go.
NFL officials informed the Carolina Panthers to continue their flight to Kansas City as planned, per Panthers interim general manager Brandon Beane. The team was scheduled to depart at 1:15 p.m. ET and the travel continued as planned.
It will be a controversial decision from the league, but if the Chiefs decide that the team is fit to play the game, then the show must go on.
