Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger made an honest effort to practice this week and fight through the pain of his separated shoulder and dislocated rib as the team prepared for Sunday’s match up against the Baltimore Ravens, but the $100 million quarterback just wasn’t able to fight through it.
Roethlisberger still does not have the strength he needs in his throwing shoulder and has been ruled out by the Steelers.
“I firmly believe that (Batch will play well),” Roethlisberger said on Friday. “They know what he’s capable of. He’s been doing it a long time. They respect him. I think he’s ready to rise to the occasion.”
Without Roethlisberger under center, the Steelers face a very real possibility of falling to 6-6 on the season.
However, with the progress that Roethlisberger has made over the past week it appears that the Steelers will have their starting quarterback back under center for week 14.
