New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has made no secret about his unhappiness with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell during the entire bounty investigation. Goodell mishandled the entire bounty situation and it has hurt his reputation with the fans and players.
According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Brees said that Goodell has “little or no credibility” with the players. The Times-Picayune expanded:
Brees said he hates to sound like “conspiracy theorist” but said since former Commissioner Paul Tagliabue has been involved the process has been very “staged,” like, ‘how do we get out of this mess?'”
While commissioner Goodell is falling out of favor with the fans, Brees needs to tread lightly and be careful that he does not fall victim to his own act. If he continues to publicly trash his boss, he is conducting exactly what he accused Goodell of doing with the Saints organization — starting a witch hunt.
