The New York Jets have announced that Mark Sanchez is no longer their starting quarterback.

After a benching that fans have been calling for, it’s not Tim Tebow that gets the call, it is former Alabama Crimson Tide standout Greg McElroy who will start this week against the San Diego Chargers.

In McElroy’s only regular season appearance, he entered the game in relief of Sanchez and led the Jets to a come from behind win over the Arizona Cardinals. With a full four quarters of work, McElroy will have the chance to show that he can be the Jets signal-caller of the future.
