Lovie Smith Gets Four Interviews Set Up On First Day In Unemployment Line

The Chicago Bears decided to fire head coach Lovie Smith on Black Monday but he won’t be in the unemployment line for long. Per an ESPN report, Smith already has four interviews lined up. ESPN did not clarify which four teams contacted Smith for their coaching vacancy, but it obviously has to be one of the team’s that fired their head coach on Monday — Chiefs, Chargers, Browns, Cardinals, Bills and Eagles.

I may not be fair to say, but some teams could be bringing in Smith early so that they can immediately comply with the Rooney Rule.

Whatever the motivation, Smith is a heck of a coach and he will find work either as a leading man or coordinator in 2013.
