As teams look to fill their backfield with running backs, free agent Felix Jones appears to be struggling to find a home. As players are traveling frantically all over the country he is sitting at home.

“No visits planned yet for Felix Jones,” ESPN Dallas writer Calvin Watkins tweeted.

This is interesting because I went to the Perot Museum in Dallas, and in their sports hall you can race against your choice of either a Tyrannosaurus Rex, a Cheetah, and Felix Jones. I watched a 16 year old in jeans beat Felix Jones in the race.

But the blame for his lack of a market ultimately falls on his shoulders. A former first round draft pick was passed over for by DeMarco Murray, who was drafted in the third round. But this season Murray suffered a foot injury in Week 6 and Felix Jones was given a chance to start.

He averaged 3.1 yards per carry as a starter. Not appealing to an NFL team when it is one of the worst stats in the NFL. As the bigger pieces in free agency fall like Reggie Bush, Rashard Mendenhall, Ahmad Bradshaw a market might emerge for Felix Jones as teams get desperate to sign someone.
