On February 27th, I had the honor and privilege to conduct my first ever interview with, Anthony ‘Spice’ Adams, a defensive tackle who spent 9 seasons in the National Football League for the San Francisco 49ers and my beloved Chicago Bears.

A fan and locker room favorite, Anthony Adams was not only a funny and out going guy, but when he took the field for either practice or game day, he meant business.

In his 9 seasons with the San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears, Adams recorded 278 combined tackles, 10.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles.

Now after 9 seasons in the league, it is time to live life after football. I sent him a message on Facebook, personally thanking him for the memories he has given us Chicago Bears fans and wishing him the best of luck with whatever he decides to do now that he is retired.

The 2010 NFC North Division Champion replied back with:

"“I enjoyed getting drafted in the second round, I enjoyed playing for San Francisco and Chicago! It couldn’t be a better ride for me! Two great cities with storied franchises and awesome fans! 9 years have went by fast but now I have to make a career out of an alternative route. I’m currently enrolled in an Executive MBA program at George Washington University and I graduate in July. In addition to this I have 4 kids so I have to keep it moving. My kids are proud of me whatever I do so that is always nice to know!”"

As a fan of Double A’s, I was looking forward to seeing him step onto the field even if it wasn’t in a Chicago Bears uniform but totally understand when it comes to his decision to step away from the game and focus on something else.

We here at NFL Spin Zone wish Anthony Adams and his family the best and I personally, will always be a fan of #95.
