Eric Winston was released from the Kansas City Chiefs. It wasn’t because he couldn’t perform, but just a salary cap move. So many were wondering where a dominant offensive tackle would go.

Initially Eric Winston was drawing a lot of interest specifically from the Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles, and San Diego Chargers. The favorites early on where the Miami Dolphins, Winston has ties to the area, but he seems to have given up on the idea of playing in South Beach.

“Obviously I have ties down in South Florida, I have a lot of friends down there from college that still live down there,” Winston said on the NFL Network’s NFL-AM, via the Palm Beach Post.

“I know the area pretty well. Obviously that is an added bonus, being able to play for a franchise like the Dolphins,” he said. “Like I said, if it doesn’t work out, it doesn’t work out. Being down there is not the be all, end all. I am excited about what is going to happen. It is a new chapter in my life and my family’s life. We are going to keep moving forward with this until something happens.”

He’ll find a home, if the market doesn’t give him what he wants it could increase Miami’s chances.

UPDATE:

This is the quote we left out that this article was originally titled for, it came from RotoWorld, but wasn’t in the Palm Beach Post article.

“I’m just kind of looking for the right fit right now,” Winston said.
